Hopetown/Corriganville GP Lives Again!

Hopetown/Corriganville Grand Prix Celebration

SIMI VALLEY, CA, JULY 20, 2012

On Saturday, August 18, 2012, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., a gathering of motorcycle champions and celebrities will be honoring and celebrating the history of the iconic Hopetown/ Corriganville Grand Prix.

This legendary event ran from 1958 to 1975. In 1966, World Motocross Champions were invited to compete at Hopetown, which ushered in the existence of motocross racing to the USA.

Come meet the legends who will be honored at this iconic grand prix event, including Bruce Brown, John DeSoto, Dave Ekins, John Hateley, Brad Lackey, Keith Mashburn, Eddie Mulder, Preston Petty, John Rice, Mike Runyard, Marty Tripes and Jim Wilson. These legends will be interviewed and presented with awards, and special recognition will be made of the early pioneers of the sport.

Private vintage British and European motorcycle collections will be on display, as well as more than 100 pristine and vintage motocross and desert-racing motorcycles. Also on display will be Bud and Dave Ekins memorabilia, and the must-see Legends and Heroes Motocross Exhibit.

Motocross champion and gourmet chef Marty Tripes will be doing the honors of presenting attendees with his famous barbecue!

Tom White and the Early Years of Motocross will be at the event.

T-shirts with Hopetown/Corriganville Grand Prix commemorative artwork will be for sale at the event. All proceeds will benefit the Simi Valley Police Foundation. Posters will also be available, for a modest donation.
