CALABASAS, CA, JULY 20, 2012
The 2012 L.A. Calendar Motorcycle Show, sponsored by Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, continues its now-21-year tradition on Sunday, July 22, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. This is the premier outdoor streetbike event in America, with the upscale Calendar Bike Building Championship & Concours d’ Elegance featuring top celebrity builders, world premieres, live Calendar Girl music, and the beautiful FastDates.com Calendar Kittens.

It’s time once again for the L.A. Calendar Motorcycle Show, which will be held this year at the Calabasas Inn.
This year the Show moves to an exciting new location: the tree-shaded lawn of the Calabasas Inn, alongside the Santa Monica Mountains. The Calendar Show is broadening its focus to include the growing collector-bike market, with exhibitors and bike-show classes for classic European, British and Japanese motorcycles, along with the popular American V-Twins and customs. There is low-cost spectator admission and free parking.
America’s top custom bike builders, featured in the world-renowned FastDates.com Motorcycle Pin-Up Calendars, will be attendance, with their latest custom bikes again making their world premieres at this year’s Show. Former Calendar Bike Building Championship Best of Show and class-winning builders confirmed to be in attendance again include Shinya Kimura of Chabott Engineering; Jim Giuffra and spokesmodels from AFT Customs; Russell Mitchell of Exile Cycles; Richard Pollock of Mule Motorcycles; Chris Redpath of MotoGPwerks; Michael Schacht, who will be premiering the “new” 1936 Crocker Motorcycle; Steve Storz of Storz Performance; Caleb Owens of Cro Customs; Todd Silicato of Todd’s Cycle; Yaniv Evan of Powerplant Choppers; and many more.
Among the Calendar Show’s exciting custom-bike world premieres this year will be two-time Best of Show and five-time class winners Jim Giuffra and the spokesmodels from AFT Metric Customs in Jackson, California. They will be premiering their latest build – as always, just for the Calendar Show. Following their tradition of naming their bikes after spirit gods, “Halia” – named after a sea nymph from Greek mythology – is a Honda Shadow-based performance custom Café Sport Racer that will head for the Bonneville Salt Flats in August, with the girls in the saddle for speed-record attempts.

Jim and Angela Giuffra put the finishing touches on “Halia’’ at the AFT Metric Customs shop in preparation for the Calendar Show.
The Show’s other activities include the Calendar Bike Building Championship, selected vendors and exhibitors, the Motorcycle Machine Dyno, and live Calendar Girl music featuring performances by the Japanese girl rock band Nylon Pink and singer-songwriters Rachel McGoye and Marina V.
As always, the Show marks the world premiere of next year’s new FastDates.com Motorcycle Pin-Up Calendars, photographed by Calendar Show producer Jim Gianatsis. The Calendars include Fast Dates World Superbike and MotoGP road-race bikes, Iron & Lace Custom Motorcycles, and Garage Girls Hard at Work, hosted by the beautiful Calendar Kittens and SBK World Superbike grid girls Sabella Shake and Kinzy Ray, featured in the FastDates.com Calendars and on the website.
Attendance capacity at the L.A. Calendar Motorcycle Show’s new Calabasas Inn park location is limited, so purchasing in advance online for spectators, the Bike Contest and vendor space is recommended. Advance spectator admission is just $20 ($25 day of the Show), or $30 with lunch, and includes free parking. Food and beverages are provided by L.A.’s premier food trucks, including Baby’s Badass Burgers, The Grilled Cheese Truck and Maui Wowi Hawaiian fruit and coffee smoothies, and Sugar Babies Cupcakery, with sponsorship support by Budweiser and Coca-Cola.
The 2012 Calendar Motorcycle Show is taking place at the Calabasas Inn, located at 23500 Park Sorrento, Calabasas, California 91302, near the famed Sagebrush Cantina at the Valley Circle Exit off Highway 101 at the west end of the San Fernando Valley.
