Mark Deal and Daryl Rath each scored a pair of victories in their respective divisions during the penultimate round of the North Central Ice Racing Championship Series held on Rush Lake, located on the outskirts of Rush City, Minnesota.

Mark Deal (33) and Jimmy “Quick” Bjerke (888) dice it out in the Senior Over 40 main event on Rush Lake. Deal eventually scored the win with a last-lap pass over Bjerke. Deal also won the Vet Over 30 class at this penultimate round of the North Central Ice Racing Championship Series.

Winning two motorcycle classes seemed to be no big deal for longtime ice racer Mark Deal, as he piloted his Big Deal Plumbing-sponsored 450cc Honda to his first win of the afternoon after chasing Jimmy “Quick” Bjerke throughout Vet Over 30 main event and sealed the deal via a smooth pass with only a couple of corners to spare.

During the Senior Over 40 main event, Deal quickly went to work on Bjerke, making the pass on the early race leader after one lap of the Le Mans-style circuit. Deal then raced to his second win of the day, ahead of Bjerke.

Notorious fast guy John Monroe finished third in both events.

Nate McNeilly (121) eventually scored the win in the Open B final, over previous event winner Shayanna Wilson (99).

The Pro Quad division saw a familiar face in the winners’ circle, in the form of Rath. The Rath Racing-sponsored veteran topped the Open Pro Quad main and the Pro Dash For Cash, closely chased by Taylor Peterson and Brock Zychowski.

Daryl Rath (67) and Taylor Peterson (28) finished one and two in the Open Pro and Pro Dash For Cash at the North Central Ice Race held on Rush Lake.

Rath’s shot at a three-peat on the day was thwarted by Bryan Skaudis in the Open A Unstudded main event. Skaudis raced to victory, while Rath gated poorly but methodically worked his way up from the back of the pack to finish in second by race’s end.

Gavin Rowland (18) came out on top of a close battle with heat-race winner Dominic Bartell (277) and Jacob Hagemann (33) to win the Youth Sport main event.
