By Randy Kremlacek
CHOWCHILLA, CA, MAR. 30, 2014
Saturday, April 5, will be the first CFTA race of the season, and it is shaping up to be a fantastic weekend of racing and fun. As of today, the forecast is for sunny spring weather through the weekend.
On Friday, April 4, there will be a practice session, with gates opening at 4 p.m. and practice commencing at 6 p.m. and continuing until approximately 10 p.m. Admission for riders is $20 and for spectators is just $5. Practice Special: If you have never raced at Chowchilla Speedway before, we’ll let you ride for free on Friday night!
How to Get to Chowchilla Speedway
Take Highway 99 to Chowchilla, then go west on Robertson Boulevard and turn left on 5th Street and then make a left on Avenue 25. The racetrack is at the back of the fairgrounds. The entry for both spectators and riders is at the end of Avenue 25.
Are either National or District AMA cards required?
No membership cards are necessary at CFTA events.
Where Do Quads Pit?
Because we have a strict policy of no pit riding, quad riders should pit as close as possible to the line-up chutes.
Overnight camping is available? Hookups are $25.
Racers must run Class C tires, except for PW50s.
You can find the Pro Payouts posted at the event or see them online by clicking on the banner above or the flyer below.
Pets in the Pits
We discourage racers and their families from bringing their pets to the racetrack, for safety reasons. However, if you insist, the pets must be on a leash.
No triple-digit number plates, please. They make scoring too difficult.
Exhibition classes will be run at the Race Director’s discretion. Exhibition classes must have a minimum of five riders.
Championship Series Awards
There will be some very nice awards presented to riders at the end of the year.
