The next SCFTA race is round four, this Saturday, April 5. You may have heard that the date was changed, but it will be on the fifth of April. Gates will open at 1 p.m., and practice will start after the riders’ meeting, at about 4:30.
There was some confusion regarding the Trailblazers banquet being held the same day. Unfortunately, on this occasion, the event dates overlap.
The turnout was great for round three, with great racing all night! Even with the National guys at Daytona, we still had a great Pro main, plus all the Amateur classes had great racing. Thanks to everyone who made it out!
Daytona was a good showing for Perris riders in the mains. The Pro class had Dylan Morin (who set fast time on the first night), Nick Armstrong, Ryan Foster and Davis Fisher. Expert riders who often visit Perris included Briar Bauman, Sammy and Jethro Halbert, Mikey Rush, Henry Wiles, Kayl Kolkman and Brad Baker.
Don’t forget to get your minis ready! Rudy Gil will be presenting a short track and TT for bikes 150cc and under, with classes based on skill and age. For more info, contact Rudy at email@example.com. Should be lots of fun!
Speedway races were held Sunday, March 22. I showed up at 6 p.m., hoping to catch the last few races. Wrong! They started at 1 p.m. and were done before I got there; the pits were clean and the gate was locked. I was told it was a decent turnout and the races were good. If you live close by, the speedway races are a good show (though not as good as our dirt-track races, of course…). More people in the stands means they will come back. Support your local racetrack!
