Howdy, ya’ll! Hope this beautiful Thursday finds you gearing up for the big Memorial Day Weekend ahead! Go enjoy it!

I just wanted to give you a heads-up on our next race, coming up not this Saturday but next Saturday, May 31. It will be a TT race, and remember, it is a daytime race, so the gates will open at 9 a.m., with practice beginning at 11 a.m. and racing starting at noon! Plus, it’s Ladies’ Day at the races, so all girls who come through the front gate will be admitted free!

Another quick note: The following race on Wednesday, June 18, is shown on our poster as a daytime race, but it is a nighttime race. Please help pass the word along.

AMA West Coast Holeshot Series Race at Castle Rock
If you’re looking for something to do this Memorial Day Weekend, go have some fun at The Rock! This coming Saturday is the 2014 AMA West Coast Holeshot Series Race at Castle Rock. Sign-up opens at 8 a.m., the mandatory riders’ meeting will be held at 10:15 a.m., practice starts at 10:30 a.m., and racing on the TT starts at 11:30 a.m. Go to and click on the Holeshot Series tab for more information. The Short Track will run in the evening. You must have a front brake on your bike to ride the TT; this is an AMA rule. Also, you must remove the front brake to ride the Short Track. You must have an AMA card to ride this event. There will be overnight camping in the pits; the race park will open at noon on Thursday, May 22, for those wishing to camp for the weekend. There will be a practice on Friday, May 23, from 6 to 9 p.m.; cost is $25 per rider. Dogs must be on a leash! Hope to see everyone at Castle Rock this coming weekend! For more information, call Paul Simonsen at 360/274-4346 or 360/749-3707.
