Hurd Motorsports, promoters of the Broome-Tioga Sports Center, hosted round three of the WNYOA Western New York Off-Road Association’s Hare Scrambles Series on Sunday, May 25, in Binghamton, New York. Mother Nature cooperated by bringing sunshine and blue skies and warm temperatures.

Benjamin Bouwens (23), Nathan Page (21) and Marcus Scutt-Cornell (5) lead the start of the AA motorcycle scrambles at the third round of the WNYOA Hare Scrambles Series.

Rider turnout was spectacular and set a new record for the series! The pit area was filled to capacity and even extended to the National Hill area, making it look like a motocross National was under way. Track conditions started out good due to the excellent work of the dedicated Broome-Tioga track crew, who began watering the racecourse early in the day, but the warm temperatures and strong breezes quickly dried out the track surface and dust became a factor, especially for the starts of the quad divisions.

The WNYOA race series uses a transponder system for scoring. Mechanics and spectators can monitor their riders’ lap times and positions in real time on a large-screen monitor located near the scoring and transponder area.
