Rain Halts Timonium Short Track

Mother Nature was the big winner at the third round of the Baltimore County Trail Riders/ Cockeysville Optimist Club’s 19th annual Gary Nixon Memorial Short Track. The rain that had been in the area finally hit just after they had the track groomed for the finals, with the Over 40 class waiting in the start chute. While the half-hour shower would have stopped any of the clay tracks in the area, this small sand-and-clay mixture can take it, but with a curfew about an hour away and the track-ready time probably about the same, the plug was pulled, and finishing positions were paid from the starting positions for the final.

And since half of the classes had multiple heats, we’ll never know if the finishes would have matched the starts.
