National number 98, Kayl Kolkman, and National number 37, Jimmy Wood, both showed up at round eight of SCFTA action. Wood, who races a limited amount of events, led from the start and swapped positions several times with Kolkman in the first half of the Pro main event. However, Kolkman, who has a full-time race schedule, went on to take the victory over Wood, with both riders lapping the Perris quarter-mile oval in the 14-second bracket. They were the only two riders to dip below the 15-second mark on the night.

Former Pro-class champion A.J. Hateley put in a strong showing, finishing third in one of his few appearances at Perris this year.

Perris continues to average o150 entries for this series, which is a good thing for flat track…

Stay tuned for a full race report, results and more photos to be posted soon on Today’s Cycle Coverage…

National number 37, Jimmy Wood, once more returned to racing (just for the thrill of it) at round eight on the Perris quarter-mile oval.
