Hey, Race Fans!

It’s been a while, and here I am to give you an update on my 2014 racing season. After a long winter off season of hard work and dream building, the season kicked off down in New Zealand with the World Championship Grand Prix. My expectations were high; however, the result did not reflect the hard work and desires that we had as a team. I came away with only six points and a huge uphill battle to contend with. From that point, I had a real eye-opener and began rebuilding the overconfident Greg back to the determined rider that I know I am.

I’ve had a good run since then, making seven finals in a row and some good podium finishes, including another amazing win at Cardiff Millennium Stadium. Currently, I sit with a five-point lead in the championship, with four very important rounds to go. I’m here for the long haul, and I have a World title in my dreams once again.

The domestic league form has also been consistent and positive. In Sweden, my club, “Piraterna,” had a rough start overall, including a run of injuries with some riders, but we’ve bounced back tremendously to finish second in the overall table and seeded straight to the semifinals of the play-off series, which starts in just under two weeks.

In Poland, my club, “ Grupa Azoty Unia Tarnow,” has dominated the year so far, only losing one match in the overall series to date. We have one home match left before the start of the play-off series there, and then it’s all back to zero again as we set our sights on another Polish Ekstra League gold medal.

…but it’s getting better all the time…

Earlier in the season, I received some difficult news that my longtime lead sponsor, “System Edström” from Sweden, can no longer continue to support my racing program. This is due to a shift in the company budgets, and they have had to call it a day with their speedway program. As difficult as it is, this is also the end of a great era and cooperation with an amazing company. They have supported Team Hancock Racing for nearly 15 years. I thank System Edström for everything and believe that we will always maintain a great personal relationship anyway. The Grand Prix in Gorzow will be the last time that you will see System Edström displayed on the Team Hancock Racing program. We are now in search of a new sponsor and hope that we can find another great company to start a long-term relationship with as well.

…and he’s had some pretty good moments along the way.

Apart from the racing, I continue to work hard to promote my Hancock range of aerosol cleaners and lubricants. In 2014, we also signed new agreements to take over the Swedish distribution of Troy Lee Designs and ODI Grips. Our future is shaping up and looking bright! Check it out at

Thank you for your support – and see you on top!
– Greg
