Mid-America Speedway in Indianapolis, Indiana, would like to announce its new schedule for the upcoming 2015 season, which kicks off next month with the first event of the season on Saturday, April 25, with the Speedway’s annual spring event, the Flat-Track Forums Night. (For more information, please see flat-track.com/forum/).

This year, Mid-America Speedway will be hosting and supporting a total of 14 races throughout the 2015 season.

Brad “The Bullet” Baker, the 2013 AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Champion, showed up at Mid-America in August of 2014 equipped with his Baker Boys Honda CRF450R and proceeded to own the track throughout the evening in the Open-class event, from which he took home the $1,500-to-win money available to the Pro and Expert riders in attendance over the Indy Mile weekend. A large contingent of GNC1 and GNC2 riders (formerly known as the Expert- and Pro-class riders in AMA Pro Flat Track) are expected to attend this year’s Night Before the Indy Mile race on July 10.

Track president and race promoter Jim Terchila and his great crew will again preside over the racing action at the Marion County Fairgrounds-hosted track, located on Indy’s southeast side.

“We’re looking forward to the new season ahead, and this year includes our regularly scheduled regional races to go along with what will be our hosting of two big premier events at our facility,” said Terchila. “This year’s schedule will include our third year of hosting the AMA Vintage Dirt Track National Series, sponsored by Harley-Davidson of Bloomington, Indiana, on August 8, during the Red Bull Indianapolis MotoGP Weekend, and our annual Night Before the Indy Mile race that is scheduled for July 10 and will again see a $1,500 payout in the Open-class Pro race. This year’s race will be held the Friday night before the AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Championship stop at the Indiana State Fairgrounds on July 11.

“We are also partnering this year for the first time with the third annual Hoosier Bike Rally in Frankfort, Indiana,” Terchila continued, “and we will be running a limestone half-mile race at the Clinton County Fairgrounds on September 12, which will be a part of the three days of festivities over the September 10-13 weekend that will also feature food, music, a car-and-truck cruise, along with our first-ever half-mile race. You can find out more about this big weekend at their website, http://homegrownbiker.com/hoosierbikerally.

“We’re very proud of what we have been able to do over the years thanks to the folks at the Marion County Fairgrounds,” he added, “and in what will be our eighth year of operation, we have also updated our track logo for the first redesign in our history to honor local racer and hero Dan Ingram, AMA Grand National number 31, who recently announced his retirement from full-time racing. Dan is a longtime supporter and competitor at Mid-America, and we wanted to do something special for him to honor his many years of support at our facility.”

Aldana, a crowd favorite at every event he attends, is expected to return to Mid-America again this season, along with his squadron of Honda 350s and equipped with his Bultaco to campaign this year’s AMA Vintage National race on August 8.

The track would also like to remind everyone about the season-ending Halloween race, one of the facility’s best-attended events each year.

“Traditionally, this has been our second-biggest event each year,” Terchila noted, “and it includes costumes and a 25-lap Open-class main event that pays a minimum of $500 to win.

“With just over three weeks to go before the first race of the season,” Terchila concluded, “it’s not too early to start marking your calendars and making plans for what will be another thrilling and exciting season of racing at Mid-America Speedway, as we look forward to hosting some of the best flat-track racers and fans in the Midwest.
