GEICO EnduroCross Championship Series

The 2015 GEICO AMA EnduroCross Championship will return to Las Vegas on Friday, May 1. Just like it all began in 2004, the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas will host the stars of EnduroCross. But this time they’ll be tackling a track seemingly impossible to ride during that first event in 2004.
To make room for all the obstacles that the 2015 series requires, the EnduroCross track builders have moved the start to outside the venue! Riders will blast into the arena and straight into the mayhem!
The first thing the racers will face is a rock turn guiding them straight to an elevated Matrix – closely spaced logs that often send riders over the bars. After a quick trip through a firewood pit, over a mountain topped with logs, and across a couple of log double-jumps, and then scrambling up a huge rock pile, riders will navigate through massive wire spools, jump into a pond, and exit into a sand pit.
Sounds like a day’s worth of extreme trail-riding crammed into every lap!
If that’s not enough to get you excited, the Las Vegas event – three rounds into the 2015 season – will also be a qualifying race, with three X Games Enduro X spots up for grabs. Outstanding performances will earn three lucky riders invitations to the 2015 Austin X Games Enduro X. So you can expect a few of the up-and-comers who have not yet earned an invite to be going for it.
Speaking of X Games qualifying, check out the launch ramp in the middle of the floor: This will be used for the first-ever X Games Step-Up qualifier. This special event is open to 30 riders, with the top 10 advancing to the evening show. The top three will get an invitation to compete at the X Games on June 4, in front of the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin.
To enter the Step-Up qualifier, go to Endurocross.com. Click on the “entry form” tab and select the Las Vegas event to complete the event registration form. A fee is required to enter.
For more info on the X Games Step-Up qualifier, please contact Eric Peronnard, the sport organizer, at firstname.lastname@example.org or Miki Keller at email@example.com.
If you have never been to an EnduroCross, get to an event in 2015! You will be blown away by the exciting show and the amazing skills on display. And if you want to see how your skills match up to the EnduroCross track, there are classes for riders in the Open Amateur, Vet Over 35, Women’s and TrialsCross classes that anyone can enter!
