Exciting List of Riders for X Games Step Up Qualifier

Last month, X Games announced the first-ever X Games Step Up qualifier event, to be held in collaboration with the third GEICO AMA EnduroCross round on May 1, 2015, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas. The open call has attracted an exciting list of riders from around the globe, including a female rider.

The first-ever X Games Step Up qualifier will take place in conjunction with the GEICO EnduroCross event in Las Vegas on Friday, May 1. Several riders will be competing for one of three invites to the X Games in Austin, Texas.

The qualifier will take place the evening before the Monster Energy Supercross finals and will be open to 30 riders, with the top 10 riders advancing to the evening show. The final top three athletes will be invited to compete at the X Games on Thursday, June 4, in front of the Texas State Capitol in downtown Austin.

The list of riders so far includes:

Tom Parsons: The Floridian won the 2014 X Games Best Whip and now wants to earn an invite for Step Up.

Tyler Bereman: One of the best freeriders in the world, known for his sideways whips and unique style.

Vicki Golden: The multiple-time X Games Women’s Moto X winner and Best Whip medalist.

Massimo Bianconcini: A top Italian Freestyle rider who has won the European Step Up contest.

Jarryd McNeil: The Australian rider who has multiple medals in X Games Best Whip and Speed & Style.

Wally Palmer: The “Wildman” from New Jersey who is an EnduroCross crowd favorite.

Kevin Rookstool: The multitalented rider who qualified for an EnduroCross main and a Supercross night show, and who raced the GNCC during this year’s Daytona Bike Week.

Alastair Sayer: A rider from Botswana, a small country in Southern Africa, who has made a name for himself in Freestyle.

Kris Foster: Another amazing freerider who has been featured in several popular videos.

Jeff Griffin: The Bakersfield, California, native who is a regular Freestyle show rider.

Brian McCarty: A Southern California Freestyler who has been making a name for himself.

Mike Aranda: An off-road motorcycle racer and real-estate agent from San Mateo, California, who built his own Step Up jump to practice on.

“The X Games Step Up is always a great show, and it will be awesome to see which of these riders can earn an invite to Austin,” said Eric Peronnard, the motorcycle sports organizer for X Games.

To enter the Step Up qualifier, go to Endurocross.com and click on the “entry form” tab and select the Las Vegas event to complete the event registration form. A fee is required to enter.
