SCFTA Southern California Flat Track Association Championship Series
Perris Raceway

PERRIS, CA, JULY 9, 2015

Summer’s going fast. What have you done? Where have you raced?

Several SCFTA racers drove back to the midsection of the country to race the Amateur Nationals and watched it rain! (More on that later…)

There will be a practice this weekend at Perris! Looks like the weather gods may favor us; the forecast says 88 for the high on Saturday, and the late afternoon and evening should be perfect for a night of practice. Rudy Gil will send the first session out at 4 p.m., and the final checkered flag will wave at 9 p.m. If you don’t get enough laps in, it’s your own fault!

Round seven will take place July 25. You know the drill! But in case you don’t – gates will open at noon, practice will run at about 3:30 p.m. Races will follow after practice and track prep, so if you want to watch, if you are there by 5 p.m., you should be able to catch all of the heat races and main events. Racing has been tight and exciting in just about every class, but the Pros, Bombers, Youth and Powder Puff races have been some of the best this year!

Bring a friend!

Riding out to the event? There are lots of great roads leading to the track: Santa Rosa Mine Road, Lake Matthews Road, Cajalco Road (from I-15 to Lake Matthews/Santa Rosa Mine Road), Ortega Highway. Make it a destination!

Please, if you’re driving out on race days, park in the lot across the street. More riders have been coming lately and we need the pit space for the racers! If you don’t have a bike in the back, park in the overflow!

Coolers are welcome, but please, no glass bottles! Refreshments will also be available at the track.

Planning on coming early or staying late? Overnight parking is usually available. Call first…

The next event at the track will be speedway racing on August 1. Some of the best speedway racers in the United States show up to run Steve Evans’ races at Perris Raceway. Racing starts, once again, at 5 p.m. You might even see a world champ or two…
