With the 2015 Kenda/SRT West Hare Scrambles Championship visiting some of the most varied and unique terrain each weekend, the new venue for the season finale will be no exception!
The Dark Side Motorcycle Club, MRAN and AMRA have stepped up to host the final round of the series, and their event pits the fastest racers in the Southwest against the entire West Coast contingent on their tight, technical single-track lined with cholla cactus mixed with some fast washes and rocky elevation changes!
As with all of the MRAN-sanctioned rounds, the entire race day will take place on Saturday, starting with the Pee Wees on their two-mile course and the Youth racers on a 10-mile course. Then, immediately afterward, a few more technical trails will be added to fill out the 1.5-hour C race headed up by the Women racers, and the day will be headlined by the 2.5-hour Pro/ A/ B race.
One thing that will be most unique about the event is the start procedure. Laughlin has very strict BLM regulations on how many racers will be able to start at once, so we will be utilizing a start very similar to that of the Snowshoe GNCC on the East Coast, starting 10 racers at a time, based on their points standings! The top 10 overall riders will start first (Pro and FMF Pro 250cc combined), followed by the next 10 overall, etc.; then the top 10 Open A riders, followed by the next 10 Open A riders, and so on for each class. Then the riders who are not in the points chase will be lined up based on entry within their classes. All rows will be time-adjusted, so make sure to get those valuable points at round seven (which will be held on October 24).
Pre-entry opens October 1.
EVS is stepping up to back the final WHS and NHHA rounds. Lots of swag, gift certificates and give-aways will be thrown out to the crowds at the final rounds of both championships, so be there to catch ’em and earn some top-of-the-line protective gear!
Much more info to come, so stay tuned!
