American Classic Racing and Hurd Motorsports teamed up for the annual Vintage Vet and Youth Championships at Broome-Tioga on Saturday, July 11, for a day of action-packed Vintage Motocross racing. Saturday’s event ran the full National racecourse, which had been perfectly groomed by the Hurd Motorsports track crew. Modern-bike classes were mixed in with the Vintage classes for a full day of motocross racing at this world-class facility.

Race day dawned under mostly sunny skies, with just a few clouds and a temperature of 80 degrees and a nice breeze. Unfortunately, that breeze and the hot sun kept the Broome-Tioga track crew busy all day as they tried to keep the dust at bay by watering the racecourse.

Hurd Motorsports decided that some track changes were needed, and the racecourse is now being run in the opposite direction. Also, some obstacles were moved or completely changed altogether. Racers were heard saying that they loved the new layout and had nothing but kudos for the new design, direction and track conditions.
