Polaris Industries, the builder of Indian Motorcycles, has hinted that they plan to back Indian factory bikes on the Mile and Half Mile dirt tracks by late 2016 or early 2017.
The original factory went bankrupt in 1953. Polaris acquired it in 2011.
Polaris also has Victory Motorcycles in its stable and has given factory backing for bikes competing in the NHRA Pro Stock events and Isle of Man TT racing, and there have been rumors that they would go for a speed record at Bonneville. They also took on the Pikes Peak Project 156.
Watch for the Indians to rise again!
