Don Surplice, R.I.P.

LOS ANGELES, CA, AUG. 27, 2015

Trailblazer Hall of Famer Don “Squatty” Surplice passed away last Saturday from heart failure. He was 86 years old.

Squatty was a 1950s and ’60s desert racer and a member of the Checkers Motorcycle Club. He was also a Boy Scout leader, and Bill and Al Rogers were in his troop.

Services will be held on Friday, September 4, at 11:30 a.m., at Pierce Brothers Valhalla Memorial Park and Mortuary, located at 10621 Victory Boulevard in North Hollywood, California 91060.

We will miss him.
