Another new venue has popped up in the central valley of California, on Airport Way in Manteca, California, thanks to Joe Vierra and family. The new promoters, the Mid Valley Motorcycle Club, have planned a four-race series that will take place during four doubleheader weekends.

The first open practice took place on February 20.The track was smooth and fast, and every comment heard about the day was positive. Thanks to OMC, the speedway gate is up, and Todd Cindell did some awesome track prep.

The first formal event at the track will be the Jerry Curry Memorial, slated for this Friday night, February 26, and Saturday, February 27. Round two will take place on March 11 and 12. Round three will be held on Friday, March 25, and Saturday, March 26. Gates will open at 3 p.m. on Fridays and 9 a.m. on Saturdays. A second practice will take place on April 17, followed by the final doubleheader on April 22 and 23.

Classes included are speedway, flat track, sidecars, and a 100cc TT challenge (on Saturday only) that pays $100 for first place, $50 for second and $25 for third. The Open Pro and Division One speedway classes will both have an 85-percent payback, with entry fees of $50. Other class entry fees are $40, Mini and Pee Wee entry is only $15, and there may be a Vintage purse if there are enough participants.

The new track is located 7.2 miles south of Highway 120, at 29555 South Airport Way. It is on the left side of the road, and you can find it by watching for the sign on the gate that reads “Nut Up Speedway – Mid Valley M/C.”

Camping is available at the track for $5 per car or RV.
