Hurd Motorsports, promoters of the world-class Broome-Tioga Sports Center, hosted the eighth round of the fifth season of their Winter Mud & Snow Scrambles Series. The series consists of 10 rounds running from November through April, utilizing the multiple motocross tracks, grass-track and single-track trails of this massive facility. This unique and challenging series continues to expand and has been attracting new racers but also continues to draw some of the most experienced and talented off-road riders from Upstate New York and beyond.

Carter Boehme (5486, left), Cody Kramer (117, center) and Jared Wright (273) lead the start of the 85cc (10-15) motorcycle scrambles at round eight of the Broome-Tioga Winter Mud & Snow Scrambles Series.

Round eight dawned under overcast skies and in chilly temperatures. The weather service reported a high of 32 degrees for the day. When the racing began, the track surface was frozen, and it would remain frozen for most of the race program, which meant that riders would not be dealing with muddy conditions as at the past several rounds.
