The 2017 AMA Kenda/ SRT National Hare & Hound Association’s Championship Series will make its way to Jericho, Utah, this upcoming weekend! Hosted by the Sage Riders, with 101 miles of tight, rocky course, there is sure to be a challenge awaiting these racers!

With a season full of rain for the area, conditions at the Little Sahara OHV can be expected to feature better tire traction, along with the awesome green scenery!

This past weekend’s event in Lucerne Valley, California, was a grueling three loops, which knocked a few racers out of round five due to injuries sustained at round four. With Jacob Argubright pulling a win at this same round last year, fans can most likely expect a repeat this year in Little Sahara.

Round five will be a one-day event, with both Youth and Big Bike races on Saturday. The Pee Wee course will be a 4-mile loop (30 minutes), while the Super Mini course will be 37 miles and the Big Bikes will be racing three loops, with loop one being 40 miles, loop two being 29 miles, and loop three being 32 miles.

For the race fans who won’t be able to make the trek to Jericho, Utah, tune in to our Facebook page to watch the action live (service permitting).

Sign-up will be available on Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. and again on Saturday from 6:30 to 11 a.m.

Race day will kick off bright and early Saturday morning at 7:30 a.m. for the Pee Wee race. Race two will be for the Super Minis at 8:30 a.m. Race three, for the Big Bikes, will start at 11:45 a.m.. The usual mandatory riders’ meeting will be held before each race.

The Kurt Caselli Foundation will also be on site to hand out the KC66 orange glow bibs for Youth riders, to increase the visibility while racing.

“Bets are all off at this weekend’s event, with completely different terrain,” said NHHA director Jacob Michna. “The fact that it is a back-to-back Hare and Hound event, and with a few of the top racers recovering from injuries, it will be hard to tell who comes out on top.”
