A couple of times during the racing season, everything lines up perfectly for Bryan Yarrow and the guy is just plain unbeatable. This happened for Yarrow in front of a near-capacity crowd Friday at Fast Fridays Motorcycle Speedway at the Gold Country Fairgrounds in Auburn, California, as he put together wins in both the Handicap and Scratch main events. A veteran rider, Yarrow began his career in the Junior ranks back in 1994, and he now sports a racing résumé that is long and full of championship accomplishments.

For Yarrow, the main-event wins were the first for him this season in both programs. Yarrow races off the 50-yard line in the Handicap program and on this evening faced tough competition, with Charlie Venegas, Billy Janniro, Louie Mersaroli, Daniel Faria and Jeremy Estes also advancing into the Handicap main event. Finishing only third in his Handicap heat race, Yarrow transferred to a semifinal and won that one, and never looked back.

Riding skillfully in the main, Yarrow calmly worked his way to the front and then held on for the win. Mersaroli was second and Janniro was third.

Yarrow again faced off against Janniro and Venegas in the Scratch main event, along with Tommy Hedden. Yarrow was first in his Scratch heat race, but he finished second in his semi and advanced to the main event.

When the tapes went up, Yarrow was just on fire! He got a good gate and caught the inside lane in turn one, and after taking a little heat from Hedden on the first lap, he slowly pulled away, increasing his lead with each lap. Hedden took second, Venegas was third, and Janniro finished fourth.

“When I’m on, I’m on,” said Yarrow. “I had a good second race; the bike was on, and I just took it from there. I have fun, I love it, and if I win one main event, I might as well win them both.”

For the second time this season, Lawrence McNutt took the win in the Division Two main event, adding more yardage to his starting position next week. McNutt has now found a home on the 40-yard line – for the time being. Shawn Eldredge was second and Michael Achilles was third.

The Extreme Sidecars made their fourth of five appearances at Fast Fridays this season and again packed the house with their die-hard fans.
