Riders of motorcycles can ride on a grass-track, sample what an enduro course is like, and enjoy the back roads with two adventure rides. Food will be served on Saturday evening, from 6 to 8 p.m., and on Sunday, from noon to 4 p.m. The Rooster Band will entertain on Saturday evening, from 8 to 10 p.m. Sorry, no four-wheeler trails; motorcycles only.

Family and friends spent weeks preparing for this event, cutting trail in the intense Midwest summer heat, hours and hours of mowing for the lengthy grass-track, and cutting briar bushes down for access to some killer single-track and an unbelievable trail down by the White River – which is actually a brown river, but the trail was the best, with some moisture from when the river was up a few days earlier, and this made for some epic single-track.

The forecast for the weekend could not have been any better, with temperatures in the low 80s and cooling down at night. A group of us ventured out of Bedford on our dual-sport bikes toward Campbellsburg on Saturday morning for the adventure ride, which was held on county gravel roads. There were about 25 or 30 bikes winding through the hillside leaving Campbellsburg, and the ride made stops in Leesville, Medora, and Skyline Drive near Brownstown.

2017 0730 IN ISDE FR PHOTO G yellow bikeAfter about 85 miles of riding, we made our way back to the start, where more and more campers were getting set up and the grass-track was almost ready to open.

Dinner was served, and then the bikes were set loose!

Grabbed a bite to eat and then headed back north to Bedford, putting in a 150-mile ride for the day.

I loaded up the KTM the next morning and headed back to Campbellsburg for some excellent single-track and grass-track adventures.

I got there early enough to be one of the first on the trails. I got in one loop and then got some food and went back out again, looking forward to the riverbed section. Then I hung out for a while and was hoping to catch Ryan Sipes riding, but that didn’t happen.

What a great weekend of riding!

Please donate what you can to Jake.

Go, Team USA!
