It was wonderful to see so many Trailblazers at Perris Raceway and Perris Auto Speedway. For those who weren’t there, sorry about that – you missed two good nights!

AFT Finals
Grand National Champion Jared Mees won the main event and set a record on his Indian, bringing his total to 17 podium finishes in one season. He had 10 victories, six second-place finishes and one third-place finish.

The 2017 MotoAmerica Superbike Champion and former Moto2World Champion, Toni Elias, came in 12th in the AFT Singles class on a Yoshimura Suzuki. He competed in the Superprestigio events in Barcelona and Las Vegas.

A Dutch rider competed in the singles on a Kawasaki; Maikel Dijkstra came in 16th.

Winners of the AFT Finals Ascot Bike Contest
Clyde Williams was the big winner with his two Nortons. Clyde took home the $100 prize, plus a nice placard from Bob Basile in honor of his dad, Don Basile.

The bike with the 28R number plate is the Harold Allison Norton Trackmaster that Jody Nicholas, David Aldana and eight other riders are documented as having raced at Ascot from late 1970 to late 1976.

The number-90 Norton Red Line Norton 750 is one that Mel Lacher built and raced at Ascot for the 1971 and 1972 seasons. What is especially unique is that both bikes carry National numbers and actually raced against each other at Ascot. Congrats, and thanks for bringing it out!
