Sadly, Jack Simmons passed away on October 23, 2017, in Spokane, Washington.

Simmons had been suffering from multiple myeloma for some time, and a fall put him in the hospital.

Jack was Bill Getty’s dear friend and mentor. He taught Bill to ride a motorcycle. Anyone who knew Jack was aware of his deep faith in Christ. Bill will miss being able to call him for advice or to reflect on the many trail rides they did together, but Bill knows he is out of pain and with the Lord.

Simmons was remembered as a tough competitor, a threat at Ascot and on the Southern California scrambles tracks, and a feisty but good guy.

Jack’s wife, Ethel, has had dementia for a few years; she will be moving in with their daughter Sherry and her husband, Jim. Their son Jack and his wife, as well as Sherry and Jim, were with Jack when he passed.

God Speed, Jack.
